How planning authorities in England are responding to changes to the planning regime as regards onshore wind development

This research looks at how local planning authorities in England are responding to a Written Ministerial Statement published by the government in 2015 changing the planning regime as regards onshore wind development.

The research also seeks to understand how the revised guidance is perceived by local
authorities and the wider strategies being pursued by Local Planning Authorities to promote
renewable energy.

The research was conducted via means of email-based survey of all local planning authorities
in England to which 92 substantive responses were received.
