My community
Local energy initiatives have a key role to play in the transformation of the UK’s energy system.
That’s why we support community groups who want to do something about climate change, energy or sustainability.
Realising a just and inclusive energy transformation and achieving our sustainable energy goals (like decarbonisation, affordability, reliability) means changes everywhere, to our buildings and neighbourhoods and our local landscapes, and for everyone.
But these changes are not going to be the same everywhere or for everyone. They need to reflect and build-on local priorities, agency and capabilities.
Our experience is that there is no substitute for meaningful local engagement and leadership in building and shaping more sustainable and resilient places to live.
Our pioneering work at local and community scale is designed to empower communities, facilitate meaningful engagement, and build inclusive local leadership.
We work with young people and community organisations who want to tackle the climate emergency, reduce fuel poverty and create more resilient, sustainable and just communities.
Our support includes learning & facilitation, the co-development of insightful tools & resources, as well as consultancy and project delivery.
Fundamental to our approach is sharing what we’re doing, our knowledge and our learning.
Questions or suggestions? Get in touch. Our resource is sometimes limited, but we’ll always help wherever we can.
Spatial Planning for Climate Resilience & Net Zero
Our newly published report for the Climate Change Committee shows that a lack of clarity about central government policy is undermining the ability of local planners to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
