Sherlock Homes – home energy efficiency activity for young people
Be a house detective!
Home energy efficiency survey guidance for 10 to 14-year-olds.
Here, you can download our free activity pack to help young people aged 10 to 14 years conduct an energy efficiency survey of their homes.
The survey will help them identify things like what kind of home they live in, how it’s heated, how to spot problems, and where to begin fixing them. It’s a fun, interactive way for young people to start learning about energy efficiency and think about how they use energy at home.
The activity pack includes:
- Investigation. An accessible survey to help you look at your home in a new way, spotting what’s working well and what could be improved. It can be completed independently or with a parent or carer.
- Investigation tips. A how-to guide and reference sheet to help you get started and know what to look for.
- Solutions. A menu of realistic and easy-to-implement solutions to potential problems identified in the investigation.
