Supporting youth-led climate projects through the Youth Climate Action Fund
With support from CSE and funded by the Youth Climate Action Fund, youth-led climate projects have taken root across Bristol. We’re helping young people design and deliver projects that make a real difference in their communities through education, nature connection, practical green skills and more.
The Youth Climate Action Fund is a grant programme from Bloomberg Philanthropies that supports young people to take climate action in their cities. The fund provides grants between £800 and £3,500 to youth-led projects within Bristol. We’re supporting eighteen groups to design and deliver their ideas, helping to make positive changes across their communities.
Finn’s story: Growing confidence through climate action
Finn joined Redcatch Community Garden through a Youth Climate Action Fund project, looking for something meaningful to do while he wasn’t working or in education. At first, he was quiet and unsure of himself. But with encouragement from the team and space to grow, he began to thrive – taking on tasks, learning new skills, and eventually helping lead activities. Now a regular volunteer, Finn supports others in the group, including helping young adults with learning differences to take part in building shared green spaces in Knowle.
Finn’s journey shows how youth-led climate projects can unlock potential, build community, and create lasting change.

We’re always looking to work with organisations, funders, community groups, and individuals who share our mission to empower young people and drive meaningful climate action. Whether you’re interested in co-designing a project, funding new initiatives, offering space or resources, or getting involved directly with the projects themselves—we’d love to hear from you.
