Hdayet: Empowering young voices in environmental leadership

For Hdayet, Bright Green Future (BGF) provided a unique opportunity to connect with others who share his passion for the environment.

Where I’m from, I don’t find many people that share the same passion for the environment. So joining BGF and finding a lot of people who are passionate about the same things was really beneficial to me.

Practical skills for real-world impact

BGF equipped Hdayet with valuable skills that he’s already putting to use in his new role as a young trustee for a charity in Camden.

“BGF was very informative, and it has really helped me in my role as a young trustee. I’ve got more skills and I know what to look out for in funding projects. Things like ensuring social equality and climate justice are valued and considered.”

Addressing career concerns

Hdayet’s experience with BGF has sparked critical thinking about accessibility in sustainability careers. “We need to remove the barriers that prevent everyone from pursuing careers in sustainability,” he reflects. “Your educational background shouldn’t be an obstacle. It’s crucial that we make these opportunities accessible to people from all walks of life.”

Impact and future prospects

Hdayet’s story showcases how BGF is not just educating young people about sustainability but empowering them to take on leadership roles in their communities. By providing practical skills and a supportive network, BGF is helping to create a more diverse and inclusive environmental sector.
