The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) is looking for people in North Somerset willing to open their homes for a Saturday or weekday evening before Christmas 2024.
What is an Open Homes event?
Open Homes events offer people the chance to tour their neighbour’s homes, learn about the latest energy-saving technologies, speak to retrofit experts and get personalised advice.
Retrofit experts from CSE will lead visitors on a tour of your home. If you’ve already taken steps to make your home more environmentally friendly and cheaper to heat, they’ll discuss these measures with the visitors. Or, if you’re yet to take those first steps, they’ll explore potential measures that could be installed to increase your home’s energy efficiency.
You’ll need to be frank about issues faced in their home and demonstrate any energy efficiency measures you’ve already installed.
What could you discover about your home?
Annemieke and Tim were at a loss for what do to about their home’s mouldy extension. Here’s how taking part in a CSE Open Homes event helped them find the root of the problem.
How CSE can help
During the event, CSE’s retrofit experts will conduct an energy efficiency survey of your home worth £600!
We’ll also provide insurance, refreshments, professional cleaning and more.
We’re running Open Homes events as part of the West of England Local Energy Advice Demonstrator project, funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, via the South West Net Zero Hub.
