Future Energy Landscapes (FEL) is CSE’s innovative and practical process for developing local renewable energy projects that have meaningful input from communities from the beginning.

We’ve now produced a special FEL workshop for young people.

It’s designed to be run in a school setting, in key stage two through to key stage four. But the workshop can also be used with a youth club, scout group or similar structured group setting. The materials assume some knowledge of climate change.

CSE’s Leah Bromly was one of the developers of the resource. “Community energy is a way young people can be involved in shaping a better future, she said. “But the youth voice is generally underrepresented in the sector. Polls have found that only a tenth of 18-24-year-olds feel they have a much influence on decisions to tackle climate change, even though the age group is strongly supportive of community energy, and around a third are very worried about climate change.”
