Resources for community buildings
Making a building energy efficient includes lots of different measures such as draughtproofing, insulation and updating heating systems. Each building requires a different approach.
If you have links to a community building which is a hub for climate action activity, which needs some attention, or which is the focus of your community project then CSE’s resources, listed below, will help you to take the next step.
Community building energy audit
A document to guide you through a do-it-yourself energy survey of your community building so that you can identify the most effective options for energy efficiency improvements.
This is essentially a checklist combined with guidance notes. You can use it as the basis for a carbon reduction plan for the building, or to decide what improvements you want to install, or to identify measures you may be able to obtain funding for.
These documents have been used by organisations across the country for more than ten years, and have recently been updated.
Funding for your community building
Once you know what improvements your building needs, you can start searching for available grants and funding to help. This resource runs through different ways you can fund your work.
