We offer talks, workshops and training sessions for community groups and organisations who want to build their understanding of energy efficiency, building condition and climate resilience — whether or not they go on to commission a professional survey.

Sessions are suitable for community and voluntary groups, parish and town councils, district and unitary authorities, and trustees, building managers and volunteers.

Sessions can be tailored to local needs and may include:

• How community buildings use energy in practice.
• Common risks in older and multi use buildings.
• Why some ‘obvious’ energy measures can cause problems.
• How to think about energy efficiency alongside maintenance and resilience.
• Understanding funding rules and their limitations.
• Asking better questions before spending money.

The emphasis is on practical understanding. We aim to give people the confidence to engage critically with surveys, contractors, funding and investment decisions.

How sessions are delivered

Sessions can be delivered as short talks or briefings, interactive training sessions, sessions focused on a specific building or place, or as part of wider local programmes and events.
