Energy at Home Trade Service Support

Certification and training subsidies for installers in Bath and North East Somerset

Project duration: August 2014 to July 2015

A new trade support service has been created as an addition to the Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES) Energy at Home scheme. The scheme offers council subsidies for local businesses to become Green Deal accredited and attend sustainable construction courses. The Energy at Home Trade Support scheme is run by CSE in partnership with Low Carbon South West.

The trade support scheme ended in August 2015. So, how did it go? You can read our news story and download the summary report here.

Launched in September 2014, Energy at Home provides advice and grants for energy saving home improvements to B&NES residents. The initial uptake has been excellent with more than 100 home energy assessments carried out and many occupants proceeding to obtain quotes and apply for grants towards the cost of carrying out the recommended works. You can read more about the scheme here. The trade support service complements the existing Energy at Home service, as it allows local businesses to meet the demand created by the wider Energy at Home scheme.

Subsidised services in the trade offer include Green Deal certification, sustainable construction and renewables training, as well as membership to the Trading Standards Buy with Confidence scheme (a recommended list of approved installers from the B&NES Trading Standards team).
