Bristol Community Energy: Local Energy Initiatives

Identifying and mapping community groups across Bristol

Project duration: February 2011 to August 2011

This short project is another strand of the Bristol Community Energy project, which was commissioned by Bristol City Council (BCC) and funded by DECC.

It involved a survey to identify community groups in Bristol for whom energy is the chief activity or important priority. This information will help the Council provide more effective support for the community energy sector in the city, and to integrate the significant work that these groups do into the Council's plans for energy generation and carbon reduction.

The groups that took part in the survey provided valuable information which will form the basis for a BCC Action Plan to support the sector.

The map below shows where these groups are (as of November 2011). It's a 'live' Google Maps resource that also gives a summary of each group's work and who to contact if you want to get involved.
