Gastec at CRE SAP Ratings
Carrying out energy ratings on domestic properties in Cheltenham
Project duration: April 2005 to June 2005
Gloucestershire-based consultancy, training and product-testing company, GASTEC at CRE Ltd, was been awarded a contract by the Energy Saving Trust to develop a detailed laboratory testing procedure for the thermal and electrical efficiency of micro-combined heat and power (CHP) units. The project's overall aim is to come up with a procedure that can address the generic efficiencies of these systems and permit real comparisons with existing technologies such as high efficiency domestic condensing boilers.
As part of the work, CSE was asked to undertake energy ratings on a number of domestic properties in the Cheltenham area. Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) ratings were obtained using the National Home Energy Rating (NHER) Surveyor package.
The ratings were completed in June 2005.
