More TEA? Another two years for the Tenants Energy Advice service

New contract from Bristol City Council

CSE is delighted to have been awarded the contract to deliver the Tenants Energy Advice (TEA) service on behalf of Bristol City Council for the next two years.

The renewed service went live on 1 July 2020 and is accepting referrals from anyone who works with Bristol council tenants. If you speak to someone who might benefit from home energy advice, you can, with their permission, pass on their details using our secure online referral form (cse.org.uk/referral). Following this, a member of our team will get in touch to see what support we can offer.

Since November 2013 CSE’s Home Energy Team has supported over 5,100 Bristol council tenants with advice on topics such as managing energy bills, using heating controls effectively and dealing with problems of condensation, damp and mould. In that time we’ve run numerous advice surgeries, conducted nearly 600 home visits and arranged essential maintenance and repairs for more than 250 tenants.

Jamie Walters is managing the service. "Our advice has led to tenants saving over £600,000 in total through switching tariffs, clearing fuel debt and applying for rebates like the Warm Home Discount.

"Securing the new contract means we can continue to provide support to some of Bristol’s most vulnerable households well in to 2022", he said.
