Help design a (big) community energy grant scheme ...
25 September 2018
We're excited about the launch in October of the Next Generation grant scheme that will be administered by us at CSE (full details to follow).
In brief, the scheme, which is funded by Power to Change, will give grants of up to £100,000 to community groups and other organisations to support the development of innovative community energy projects and business models.
Rachel Haycock said: "These can be on a wide range of energy-related themes, but the idea is to move community energy away from the dominant current model of owning generation and selling the energy to the grid. What we're interested in is more complex local business models such as local energy trading and tie-ins with transport, or business models around providing services to the fuel poor.
"We're nearly ready to go, but we're seeking input into the design of this scheme from community groups themselves."
A survey that takes just 10-15 minutes to complete is at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/nextgeneration_cse.
The survey will run until Sunday 30 September.
You could be helping to design a grant scheme that will transform the community energy landscape!
