Free and discounted insulation for households in Swindon
But you’ll need to hurry ...
16 July 2018
Households in Swindon are entitled to free cavity wall insulation, or a 50-70% discount on cavity wall and loft insulation combined. But they'll need to hurry as the offer ends in September.
This is available through Warm and Safe Wiltshire, an energy saving advice service managed by CSE on behalf of Swindon Borough Council and Wiltshire Council.
CSE's Paul Winney said: “Free insulation offers don’t come up very often so I’d urge people to take advantage of this funding before it ends in September. Even if your loft is already insulated, a top-up is recommended every 10 years.
"If readers of our website know anyone who could benefit from this offer, please put them in touch."
Swindon council’s Affordable Warmth Coordinator, David Miles, said: “Whether you own your home or rent privately all households are eligible to apply. In some cases insulation can save you as much as £27 per month so it’s definitely worth exploring.”
Warm and Safe Wiltshire also offers a free impartial energy saving advice to Swindon residents.
The offer is being funded by energy companies through the Energy Company Obligation, a government programme. The free surveys and installation of the free or discounted insulation will be carried out installers who have signed up to CSE's Code of Conduct.
