Advice videos now include sign language

We’ve added BSL to five of our films

21 July 2016

We've created new versions of five of our energy advice videos with British Sigh Language interpretation.

The five films are Understanding fuel poverty, How to set a programmable room thermostat, How to use your night storage heater, How to use a central heating programmer and (below) the introduction to our Home Energy Advice work.

This was made possible with funding from the Big Lottery Awards for All, and is designed to give our advice materials as wide a reach as possible.

According to the British Deaf Association, “British Sign Language (BSL) is the preferred language of over 87,000 deaf people [out of a] total of 151,000 individuals in the UK who can use BSL - this figure does not include professional BSL users, interpreters, translators, etc".
