The Big Energy Saving Network
Helping people to switch and save energy at home
1 April 2016
For the past 6 months, a network of local community groups and charities across Great Britain has been advising people on energy saving in the home, switching energy suppliers, different energy tariffs and available government support – all to help the most vulnerable get warmer homes and lower fuel bills.
We were a 'node' in this government-funded Big Energy Saving Network, and reached 408 people in our patch of Wiltshire, Somerset and Bristol, helping people save £8,695. One couple saved a mammoth £600 by switching supplier!
The project is complete, but the switching is set to continue. Lisa Evans managed CSE’s involvement. She said: “The network was fantastic for raising awareness of the savings that can be made by switching. Helping people find the best tariff is routine work for our advisors, but with the extra funding we trained 127 frontline staff who can now help their clients to find a better energy deal – a great legacy for the project.”
And our advisors will of course keep spreading the word on the benefits of switching in their day-to-day activities.
