The state of fuel poverty
CSE partners with BoilerJuice on fuel poverty website
4 January 2016
The micro-site was commissioned by BoilerJuice to raise awareness of their community fundraising scheme that generates money for local fundraisers such as registered charities, parent-teacher associations, parish councils and community facilities such as village and town halls. Donations are made voluntarily by customers when they buy heating oil through the site, and are sent to their chosen local group.
BoilerJuice supports over 260 local British communities with their fundraising projects, donating 25p for every 100 litres of heating oil ordered by anyone in the fundraising group.
One such group is Bassingbourn village PTA which has raised £500 through heating oil purchases in the local community.
The content of the report was written by CSE, and our Head of Home Energy Services, Ian Preston, said “It's been a mild winter so far, but this could change. Along with our report partners BoilerJuice, we urge readers to remember that some people in the community will really be feeling the cold in the next couple of months, and to check up on vulnerable or elderly neighbours who may need your help.”
