Free training for electricians to meet solar energy demand
Training worth £657 for those based in B&NES
11 June 2015
All Bath and North East Somerset based electricians1 can undertake free training to become a solar PV installer. Energy advisor Paul Winney explained why now is a good time to qualify in the industry: "As the cost of solar panels falls, demand has soared. The number of solar PV installations in 2014 was 34% higher than the previous year, and there has been a 5% reduction in the number of companies accredited to meet this demand."
Bath and North East Somerset’s Energy at Home Trade Support service will pay the full course fees of £657 for electricians looking to move into this area. The service can also advise on other certification needed to become a fully accredited solar PV installer.
The course runs from 22-26 June 2015 at the Somer Valley campus of Bath College2. It is a level 3 qualification that provides practical signoff to install solar PV technologies.
