Green Open Homes autumn event funding

Apply for a grant by mid-June

To stimulate new Green Open Homes events and boost the ambition of existing ones, the Department of Energy and Climate Change has a grant fund to help cover the costs of organising events which we are administering.

Organisers of open homes events can now apply for grants of up to £7,500 for events taking place in September and October of this year. The deadline for applications is 15 June.

So far this year, there have have been 16 successful applications to the fund, and four of these from organisers that are new to open homes events. Of the new events, two are in Cornwall and the others in York and Norwich; it's great to see funded activity planned for areas that were under-represented in 2014. A handful of events have already taken place and there is plenty scheduled in the next month  initial estimates suggest that around 200 homes will have opened altogether by the end of May.

A mentor group of experienced organisers will be established to offer help and support to newer groups.
