Free home insulation for Bristol and Somerset

Cavity wall and loft insulation grants now available

8 January 2015 funding is available immediately for Bristol and Somerset residents wanting to install cavity wall and loft insulation. Homeowners and privately-renting tenants are eligible for the free home improvements, but the demand is expected to be high and anyone interested is encouraged to act swiftly to secure a grant.

“This is a fantastic offer which will not only improve your home, making it more comfortable, but will also reduce your fuel bills. Having your home insulated can save you hundreds of pounds; we know people have been waiting for this offer” – Jamie Walters, manager of the Home Energy Team.

Loft and cavity wall insulation can result in huge savings  – an average semi detached house could reduce their fuel bills by £295 a year after installation.* Under the offer, cavity wall insulation can be installed as a single improvement. Loft insulation can only be installed where cavity wall insulation is also being installed and the existing depth of loft insulation is below 99mm.
