Wanted: survey participants

We’re looking for people running energy affordability schemes to answer a few questions ...

17 December 2014

If you are running a public scheme which aims to tackle the misery of cold homes and aid those in fuel poverty, you may be able to help us.

We're looking for people from parts of England and Wales served by Western Power Distribution (WPD) to fill out an online survey.

WPD's patch is broadly South Wales, South West England and parts of East and West Midlands. You can use this postcode checker to find out if that's you.

We've piloted the survey with a few groups who complete it in around 15 minutes. CSE's Kate Simpson acknowledges that this is quite a long time. "However, the groups we spoke to were happy to provide information that could help provide a stronger evidence base to to guide WPD's support for fuel poverty-related service provision in the future."

This survey will feed into a wider study funded by Western Power Distribution which aims to identify the existing capacity, financial sustainability, local support networks, quality and range of support available in WPD's area of operation, as well as gaps in service provision.

The project also explores the efficacy of different business models that may help WPD to provide support and improve fuel poverty schemes.
