The Home Energy Upgrade

Helping to insulate Bristol and Somerset

3 February 2014

We've launched another scheme to help Bristol and Somerset residents make their homes warmer and cheaper to heat, by taking advantage of Energy Company Obligation funding.

The Home Energy Upgrade offers funding for cavity wall and loft insulation, with a free assessment and support through the process from the Home Energy Team. At the moment, the offer is open to people who are eligible for the Affordable Warmth scheme, and to people who live in certain areas. Anybody who is interested should give the Home Energy Team a call to find out if they're eligible.

We're running the scheme across Bristol, Taunton Deane, Mendip, North Somerset, West Somerset, South Somerset and Sedgemoor. We are running a simliar scheme in Bath & North East Somerset.

Cavity wall and loft insulation are two of the easiest ways to make a big difference to the warmth of a house and to bring down heating bills. "But getting help with insulation can be complicated," says CSE's Paul Winney. "This project is a great way to help people take advantage of the ECO funding that's available to them, and guide them through the process.”

Changes are in the pipeline for ECO funding, and we are keeping on top of the latest developments to see whether we'll be able to expand this offer to more householders in future. Watch this space.
