The Green Open Homes Roadshow... halfway through
Two workshops down, two to go. Are we coming your way?
21 October 2013
Heather, Joe and Harriet from CSE’s communities team have been on tour with Green Open Homes. Last week they were in Newcastle and Leeds, talking with community energy enthusiasts, local groups and people who support them about why and how to run a green open homes event.
“The workshops have been great so far,” says Heather. “We’ve met more community energy groups that we didn’t know about – it’s good to hear about the exciting things they’re doing.”
The CSE team was joined by representatives from Bristol Green Doors, who shared their first-hand experiences of running open homes events, and plenty of useful advice.
“The most useful thing was the real practical emphasis from speakers who had run successful events,” said one attendee.
Others enjoyed the opportunity to meet and network with other local groups: “It was great to hear of all the organisations in the area with a similar ethos,” they said.
“The marketing advice will be very useful,” said more than one person from a group planning an event.
Some people who came were already thinking of running a green open homes event; others came away from the roadshow inspired to start planning one.
One person who came remarked: “Great event, I was surprised there weren’t more attendees!”
So don’t miss out! Come along to the roadshow in Stoke or London. It’s free, and you can drop in at any point.
