What we learned from Bristol Switch & Save
Evaluation report now available
16 September 2013
Bristol Switch & Save was a collective energy buying scheme for Bristol households developed and managed by CSE. We aimed to negotiate better deals from energy companies, and then encourage as many households to switch as possible.
5,378 people registered their interest, and 1,242 people switched, saving a total of £129,794 on their annual energy bills. What sort of marketing was effective? Why did people sign up, and why did or didn't they switch?
We've compiled a short evaluation report to give an honest overview of the process and decisions that were made in running the scheme, as well as summarising its impact and the feedback received from participants. We hope it will help others who are considering running similar collective switching schemes in their areas in future. Read the evaluation report here.
