New localism tools in the PlanLoCaL toolkit
Helping communities engage with the planning system
26 June 2013
We’ve just added some more tools to our PlanLoCaL tookit. The new pack of resources provides detailed guidance to help community groups get involved in local planning processes – a great way to make sure their neighbourhood develops in a low carbon direction.
The Localism Act has introduced a raft of new measures, including neighbourhood plans and Community Rights, which could empower people to have more of a say over what the future of their area will look like.
It’s a great opportunity for community energy groups to really get involved in their area’s development and make sure there is a commitment to a sustainable future. But the planning system can be a confusing place, so PlanLoCaL is here to help.
These resources have been produced as part of our Low Carbon Localism project which is part-funded by the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust.
