Warmer Improved Somerset Homes

Last chance to benefit!

17 January 2013

Warmer Improved Somerset Homes (WISH) is a fuel poverty advice service supporting older people in rural areas of Somerset who live in cold, damp homes or struggle to pay their fuel bills.

This particular project is finishing in March, so it’s your last chance to benefit. You can still receive:
  • Free energy advice
  • Loft and cavity wall insulation (which may be free of charge)
  • Help finding grants for home adaptations such as rails or stairlifts

CSE works with Somerset Care and Repair to provide an in-depth advice service covering all aspects of fuel poverty. Find out more about the project here.

Mrs Crane from Minehead described her house as an “ice box”. Through the WISH project, she was able to get an award for a new boiler and upgraded heating controls to make her home much more comfortable and warm. With her new, efficient A-rated boiler she can start to save money on her fuel bills, and we also helped her apply for the benefits she was entitled to. She was delighted, saying, “Now I shan’t have to put bedsocks and woolly jumpers on when I go to bed!” Here she shares some of her experiences of fuel poverty and explains the energy efficiency improvements to her home:

If you have friends, family or clients in Somerset who might benefit from WISH, please ask them to contact us as soon as possible:
