Planning Advisory Service support from CSE
CSE joins the PAS national framework for planning support
14 November 2012
The Planning Advisory Service (PAS) has appointed CSE to its national framework as a specialist expert to provide support to local authorities on energy issues and planning.
PAS is part of the Local Government Association and supports councils across England to provide better planning services – from local and neighbourhood planning to managing infrastructure and developing skills and leadership amongst councillors and local authority officers.
CSE will be building on our strong track record in providing planning support on energy issues, particularly on engaging communities in low carbon planning and developing robust planning policy. Our past work includes running the national renewable energy training programme for planners for six years on behalf of Government and our highly acclaimed PlanLoCaL programme, which in early 2012 led to our national RTPI award for the Low Carbon Bath project.
CSE's Senior Development Manager Ruth Cole said "Being part of the PAS framework will enable CSE and local authorities to work together more easily on energy and planning issues. We also hope it will be an opportunity to work with others on the framework to help build good practice across the board in embedding low carbon thinking into local planning approaches."
