Community schemes seek financial help to launch
4 October 2011
As more and more groups take the first steps towards setting up a renewable energy project in their community, so more are looking for the financial support to help get off the ground.
These types of schemes, of course, provide plenty of opportunities for individuals who are keen to fund renewable energy projects, and in doing so, hopefully see a return on their investment.
Below is a selection of initiatives that CSE has been involved with, in varying capacities, and who are currently, or will soon be, looking for financial backing.
- Bath & West Community Energy is a group who are launching a share issue on Wednesday 5 October – find out how you can invest here.
- Low Carbon Gordano is a group in North Somerset who are holding a series of meetings about setting up an energy project.
- Bristol Energy Co-op are currently finalising plans for a scheme to install solar PV panels on the roofs of community building across the city.
- Brendon Energy has launched a share issue inviting people to invest anything between £10 and £20,000 to get their renewable project going.
CSE provides a range of support to help groups get their renewable projects off the ground – from fund-raising to applying for grants, on to planning for projects which could be used for share issues.
