Green Deal: what’s in it for you?

CSE to co-host event to assess the opportunities

2 August 2011

CSE is working with Severn Wye Energy Agency and Scottish and Southern Energy to put on a free event for local authority officers, councillors and housing associations who are interested in finding out what the Green Deal might mean for them.

The Green Deal is part of the Energy Bill introduced to Parliament in December 2010. It is intended to radically improve the energy efficiency of British properties by establishing a framework to enable private firms to offer consumers energy efficiency improvements to their homes, community spaces and businesses, funded through the future fuel bill savings that result..

Phillip Morris at CSE said: “Although the details are still coming out we wanted to share our learning from being involved in the Green Deal consultation process with our local partners. We were conscious that there have been a number of Green Deal events, but hope that this will provide a space where local partners can learn from each other and really explore the opportunities ahead of them.”

The event is still in the planning stages, but some details are available here (you can also pre-register for the event on this page).
