Places filling fast on low carbon planning workshops
More dates planned to follow the Truro and Maidstone events
2 August 2011
Places on CSE’s next two low-carbon community-led planning workshops, to be held later this year, are filling up quickly – and anyone interested in taking part in the training is being urged to book now to avoid disappointment.
The workshops, part of a bigger series of training events CSE is running, introduce delegates to the PlanLoCaL suite of tools and explore how communities can plan low-carbon and renewable energy initiatives, such as wind farms or solar projects. The next two in the series are to be held in Truro (Thursday 8 September) and Maidstone (Saturday 6 October).
Similar events have already been held in Ipswich and Kendal – and with great success. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with one delegate saying the Kendal event was “...probably the best, most relevant day's training and networking I've had since I started in this job.”
The workshops are aimed at representatives of community groups, as well as the staff of organisations like local authorities, national parks and third sector organisations who work with communities on local planning or sustainable living initiatives.
There is no charge for the training, which is funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government, and all delegates receive a resource pack (including the two PlanLoCaL DVDs) to take away with them.
Follow these successful events, CSE is aiming to run a further series of workshops and will be visiting different parts of the country. So if we haven’t travelled to your region yet, don’t fear – look out for further dates to be announced soon.
