Advice team out and about

New energy diary lists where CSE will be providing advice each month

31 March 2010

An energy consultation in Somerset later this month, at which around 100 delegates are expected to attend, is just one of a number of CSE-organised advice events that is planned to take place over the coming weeks and months.

The Somerset West Community Energy consultation is bringing together groups and individuals from across Sedgemoor, Taunton Deane and West Somerset to share their views on what energy activity is already taking place, and what further action CSE can help inspire.

The consultation is part of a wide variety of public events that CSE helps to organise and contribute to, and people can now find out where our advice team will be each month – and where we’ve recently been – by visiting the new CSE energy advice diary here

As well as organising our own events, CSE’s energy advisors visit large regional shows and local community events in venues such as doctor’s surgeries, shopping centres, sports centres, and fetes. Later this month, the advice team is also visiting the West of England landlord expo, which takes place at the exhibition and conference centre at the University of the West of England. Advisors will be passing on energy advice and support to current and potential landlords.

So far this year, CSE has taken part in and visited farmers’ markets, food festivals, supermarkets, churches, hospitals and even a Bristol City football match!

The St Michael’s and All Angels Church recently organised an opportunity for local communities and churches across Bristol to find out more about energy and environmental projects, as well as the work carried out by the church itself. An advice stand promoting CSE’s services and a talk introducing our work was just part of the contribution we made to the event.

Places for the Somerset West afternoon consultation event, which takes place at the Victoria Centre in Bridgwater on Saturday 10 April, are filling up quickly. To find out more about it, visit here
