West of England Local Energy Scheme

5 July 2019

The West of England Combined Authority is offering a capital grant to support the delivery of innovative, small-scale, renewable energy projects.

There is £500,000 in total, which will be awarded as one or more grants. Community energy groups can apply for up to £500,000 to cover 40% of eligible costs.

The grant is open to groups in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Applicants should be legally constituted enterprises; charities can only apply through a trading arm.  Projects must deliver additional megawatt capacity (0.5-1.5MW is anticipated) and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The grant application window is Monday 3 to Friday 28 February 2020. This is to allow projects time to obtain planning permission, which must be in place at the time of application.
