10 May 2019
Thrive Renewables has launched round 4 of its Community Benefit Programme. A total of around £30,000 will be available for local groups in eligible areas to apply for grants of up to £4,000 for energy efficiency improvements to community buildings and get some free expert advice for zero-cost solutions.
The scheme offers funding to community buildings close to Thrive sites in the UK. You can find out which postcodes are eligible here.
This is the fourth Community Funding Programme round since 2015. To date, the programme has awarded 21 grants totalling £63,300 to 17 community groups, including cricket pavilions, community and youth centres and village halls across the country. So far, the programme has cut 40 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. You can read case studies from the Community Benefit Programme here.
Grants may be awarded for measures such as installing LED lighting, insulation, improved heating or lighting controls, new heating systems, draught proofing and many other measures.
CSE are managing the programme for Thrive. The deadline for grant applications is 30 August 2019. You can download the application guidance and form here.
