New community energy co-op for Kensington and Chelsea

1 February 2019

A warm welcome from CSE's local energy team to North Kensington Community Energy, the first community-owned energy enterprise in Kensington and Chelsea in southwest London!

The group's first initiative – subject to a successful share offer – will be installing solar panels on two primary schools and the Dalgarno Trust, a busy community centre in the borough. Between them they'll power 23 homes, saving 32 tonnes of CO2 a year and generating £28,000 for the community fund. A share offer has been launched with a target of raising £83,000, and is open until 22 February 2019.

NKCE is funded by the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea Council Climate Change Team and the Mayor of London’s Energy for Londoners programme.
