Communications Intern

Salary: £23,850
Closing date: 23:00 on Thursday 31 October 2024

Are you an aspiring communicator with a passion for the environment and social justice? Join us at the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE).

You’ll work in our communications team to support content creation across all areas of CSE’s work, including our energy advice service, community engagement, and innovative research. You’ll bring fresh ideas to engage our audiences and support our charitable objectives of tackling cold homes and addressing climate change.

Supported by the communications team, you’ll generate a variety of content for different channels and purposes. You’ll draft social media posts, create and design eye-catching graphics, and write engaging articles, blog posts and newsletters. You’ll also help to monitor and analyse our outputs, streamline internal processes, share important updates with staff, and play a key role in planning and executing events. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to kick-start a career in communications and content creation.

It’s an exciting time to join the communications team. We’ve recently launched a new website and we’re in the process of launching a new brand. You’ll be integral to the ongoing development of our website and support the implementation of our new brand across various platforms and events.

You’ll be a creative, enthusiastic, and dynamic individual with a passion for writing, creating content and engaging people with climate and social justice. Being organised and able to manage your time is crucial as you’ll work across multiple exciting projects, both external and internal facing, including the planning and execution of four to six events annually.

While no formal experience is required, excellent written and verbal communication skills and creativity are essential. Experience using social media, content management tools, and design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is beneficial. Any experience in event planning or management, even on a small-scale, would be a plus.

The post is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and for an initial 9-month contract with a chance of extension. The role is based at our office in the centre of Bristol, with some home working options available. Applications for part-time working would also be considered for the right candidate.
