British Sign Language service

We’re delighted to provide a a British Sign Language video interpreter service, via the InterpretersLive! service, provided by Sign Solutions.

The InterpretersLive! service is available on-demand. You can use it to contact us during our advice line opening hours, which is 5 days a week between 09:00 –17:00.

Once you are speaking to the interpreter please ask them to call the following number, depending on where you live:

  • If you are in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, or North Somerset: call 0800 082 2234
  • Disabled and/or older people in Bath and North East Somerset: call 0800 082 2234
  • Somerset county: call 0800 038 5730
  • Wiltshire and Swindon: call 0800 038 5722
  • Customers of Ovo Energy or Boost: call 0800 038 5688
  • Any of the areas on the map below: call 0800 038 6345

How can I access the InterpretersLive! service?

You will need access to a device with a camera and a connection to the internet or mobile data, such as a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop.

To access the service click on the link here. If your phone runs on iOS you will need to download the StarLeaf app first (see below).

Download the StarLead app

Click here to download the app for free. You will also need an email address.

  1. Register with your email address
  2. StarLeaf will send you an email containing a 6-digit one time code
  3. Add your full name
  4. You should be able to skip the screens asking for phone number and work organisation.
  5. Once you are in, please click on the phone icon and enter and click ‘make a video call’. An interpreter will then answer and connect your call.

InterpretersLive is free for you to make a call with ourselves, the Centre for Sustainable Energy.
