Training for housing associations and tenants

Our training for housing associations enables staff to identify tenants living in cold, damp homes or struggling with fuel debt, to provide appropriate energy advice to tenants and to take action to address heating system issues or energy problems in the building fabric. CSE also provides Energy Champion training to housing association staff who want to reduce their own energy use at work.

Our tenant training enables tenants to take action themselves to reduce their energy use and their fuel bills. This includes free and low cost measures to reduce energy use in rented accommodation, tackling damp and mould, understanding bills and meter readings, choosing the best tariff, clearing fuel debt and using heating systems and controls correctly.

CSE also provides training to tenant reps who can then work with housing association landlords and help other tenants to improve their energy management.

CSE also supports housing associations and tenants through advice visits in the home, energy monitoring programmes, publicity articles, outreach events, advice surgeries and technical assessments.
