Somerset community energy forum
What was the Somerset Community Energy Forum all about?
The first Somerset Community Energy Forum was held on 7 October 2009 in Wells Town Hall. The event was set up by CSE as an opportunity for people from different community groups to find out about what else was going on in the community energy sector, share ideas and discuss opportunities for future work.
As part of the event several speakers gave highlights on the activities and successes of their groups, and there was a presentation from Green Communities explaining how the scheme can help local groups. There were four breakout groups to discuss some of the issues facing small groups.
.
Many thanks if you came to the event. If you want to be reminded of anything that was discussed during the evening, or if you weren’t able to come but you’re interested in what happened, click on the links below.

Notes from the four breakout sessions
NB the four sessions were: 1) Getting your community energy project up and running; 2) Keeping the momentum going; 3) Sharing knowledge on funding for community energy projects; 4) Ideas for marketing your project.
A lot of people attending expressed an interest in the Green Communities funding database. Click here to access the database.
Thanks to all the speakers and facilitators and to Peter Capener who delivered the plenary session.
What next?
