Bristol Energy Efficiency Scheme
Open to residents of Bristol City Council only, this scheme offers free cavity wall and loft insulation to households (including privately rented homes) containing anyone over the age of 60, or in receipt of certain benefits, or with a child under 16 living at the property. For everyone else (or where there is 60-150mm of existing loft insulation) the measures are heavily discounted at just £149 for either loft or cavity wall insulation.

Warm Streets
Open to residents of Somerset only (local authority areas Sedgemoor, West Somerset, Mendip, Taunton Deane, South Somerset, North Somerset, Bath & North East Somerset), Warm Streets offers free cavity wall and loft insulation to households (including privately rented homes) containing anyone over 70 or those in receipt of certain benefits. Households on a low income with low savings may also be eligible for free measures. Households that do not meet any of these criteria will still be eligible for heavily subsidized insulation. Additional energy efficiency measures may also be available and a benefits check can be carried out on request.

Somerset West Hard to Treat
Open to home owners in West Somerset, Sedgemoor or Taunton Deane. This scheme can provide grants towards the cost of complex roof insulation, solid wall insulation and floor insulation. A grant for 25% of the value of eligible works up to a maximum of £2500 is available. Low income customers (less than £125.00 disposable income per week) could be eligible for a low interest loan as well.

Free DIY loft insulation for Bristol householders
This new initiative from Bristol City Council and managed by CSE not only offers households across the city the chance of free loft insulation (worth hundreds of pounds), but will deliver it to their home as well. Read more about this insulation scheme here.

West Somerset heating-controls cash back
This initiative, funded by West Somerset District Council, will give cash back to residents upgrading their heating controls. It's a generous offer: £15 for every thermostatic radiator valve fitted in your home (up to a maximum of seven) and up to £75 for fitting a programmer or thermostat. Read more here.

Sedgemoor and West Somerset Home Improvement Programmes
These two programmes are aimed at the over 60s and those with a disability, but applicants do not need to be on benefits. Council and housing association tenants are not eligible. The service can offer assistance or advice even if the person does not qualify for a grant.

Wessex Home Improvement Loans
A low-interest home-improvement loan for low-incomes home owners. Up to £15,000 can be borrowed for repairs and improvements to bring the home up to the ‘decent homes standard’ and may include central heating installation, treatment of damp, roof repairs etc. Applicants must live in South Glos, B&NES, Mendip, North Somerset, Sedgemoor, South Somerset, Taunton or West Somerset.

Warm Front
The Warm Front scheme provides heating and insulation improvements to households on certain income-related benefits living in properties that are poorly insulated and/or do not have a working central heating system. Warm Front is available nationally.
