Make your home more energy efficient
Is your home letting you down?
If your house or flat is uninsulated and draughty, and if your appliances are inefficient, you’re wasting energy and money – and making yourself less snug and warm.
So why pay your fuel supplier more than you need to? The average household can save hundreds of pounds a year by taking a few simple steps. For ideas about what YOU could do now to cut your bills and enjoy a warmer home, check out the tip-house.
And did you know that you can apply for a grant to make your home more energy efficient? Many of these are from your local council or from energy companies themselves who are obliged by law to help people cut fuel bills.
Details of grants available in Bristol and Somerset are here.
You can also call free on 0800 082 2234 to speak to an energy advisor (Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 17.00) who can help you get a grant for loft or cavity wall insulation.
CSE has produced a series of simple leaflets covering many aspects of domestic energy use. Click here for more information and downloads. We've also produced guidance for people who are approached by companies with some sort of finance package or ‘rent your roof’ deal, particularly for solar PV.
And if you want to meet us face to face, check out our energy advice diary to find out where we'll be.
