We are currently looking to fill the following posts:
Local energy advice volunteers
Salary: This is an unpaid position, but we will cover agreed expenses
We’re looking for local people (aged 50-plus) who can spend up to six days a month helping others reduce their energy costs and stay warm and well at home. We work in the following neighbourhoods: Fishponds, Filton, Kingswood, Chipping Sodbury, Yate, Thornbury, Clevedon, Portishead, Keynsham, Radstock, Midsomer Norton, Paulton, Pensford, Clutton, Chew Magna, Twerton, or Southdown.

As well as an interest in energy efficiency and a desire to help others, our volunteers need an e-mail account and basic computer skills.
What you might be doing:
- Helping to organise and run local events
- Giving talks to local groups (lunch clubs etc)
- Accompanying advisors on home visits where we advise on things like heating controls, condensation and problems with fuel bills
- Helping older and vulnerable people to take advantage of grants available.
What we provide:
We’ll give you training on energy efficiency, including the opportunity to study for a City & Guilds qualification (all expenses reimbursed). And you’ll join a sociable team of volunteers with regular team meetings and one-to-one support.

Internship (Local & Community Empowerment)
Salary: £289.42 per week for a fixed term of 9 months

We're looking for a dynamic and friendly intern to support the Local & Community Empowerment (L&CE) team in the delivery of public consultation meetings and training sessions, along with the engagement of elected politicians, civil servants and local authority officers.

The L&CE team has a very ‘front‐facing’ role so we are looking for a strong communicator who can help advance the development of local low‐carbon activity, and who is keen to join a busy unit at the forefront of CSE’s work.
The nature of the work often means evening and weekend events, along with some general administrative tasks including data inputting.

Internship (Research and Technical Analysis)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, capable and engaging individual who can demonstrate both excellent numeracy and literacy skills and who can contribute to the analysis of large datasets and the communicatation of the team's findings to the client.
You may be required to attend external meetings to disseminate the results of studies to civil servants, local authority officers, businesses and community groups, so we'll be looking for a measure of confidence and the ability to express yourself. The role will also involve some general administrative tasks including data inputting across the range of projects in the team.
The roll will provide you with the opportunity to learn more about the role of research in shaping decision making at a number of different levels.
And, unlike many internships, this one's paid.
