CSE boosts capacity with new Senior Development Managers
Ruth Cole and Dr Nick Banks start work
1 September 2010
New Senior Development Managers Ruth Cole and Dr Nick Banks are starting work at CSE this month, as part of an investment in our capacity for securing new business and income streams.
Ruth, who joins from Global Action Plan (GAP) where she was a grant fundraiser, has four years of experience of the environmental and voluntary sector. Before GAP, she worked at Avon Wildlife Trust and the South East Wales Energy Agency.
Ruth has a BSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia and a long-standing interest in sustainability, which has led to a variety of voluntary activities within the field, including a year as an Environment Officer for her student union.
Nick has more than 15 years experience working and studying in the environmental field, including with Oxford University's Environmental Change Unit. He's also worked at energy agency, Carbon Descent, and as an energy and environmental consultant for Sustain, where he led policy and strategy.
Nick specialises in behavioural and attitudinal research but has also delivered energy and environmental audits, carbon footprinting of organisations, life cycle assessments, implementation of environmental management systems (ISO 14001), energy modelling and mapping projects, statistical analysis and general strategy and policy work.
Nick completed his PhD in the Sociology of Energy Use with Oxford University’s Environmental Change Institute in 1998.
