Study for a PhD in carbon management

CSE is co-funding a studentship at the University of the West of England

18 December 2007

A new PhD studentship is available through the Air Quality Management Resource Centre (AQMRC) at the University of the West of England (UWE) in Bristol.

The project is entitled Carbon Management at the City Scale: An Exploration of the Carbon Futures for the Bristol Region and will be funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and CSE, with the support of Bristol City Council.

The 3.5 year PhD attracts an annual stipend of £12,608 in 2007-08 (rising in subsequent years) and will be supervised by AQMRC's Professor Jim Longhurst and Dr Enda Hayes, as well as Professor Vala Ragnarsdottir, from the University of Bristol.

This is a unique opportunity for a student to be involved in important research with direct applications to environmental sustainability. The successful candidate will interact with a range of decision makers and stakeholders whilst undertaking this work.
