Community Action for Energy - Free Conference in February
Community Action for Energy - Free Conference in February
The day will include workshops, discussions, chances to network and even a round of energy efficiency bingo!
28 November 2002
The Community Action for Energy (CAfE) network will be hosting its first conference on 19 February 2003 in Bristol's Watershed Media Centre.
CAfE, which is an initiative from the Energy Efficiency Partnership for Homes and managed by the Centre for Sustainable Energy, supports individuals already working on community-based energy projects and also reaches out to general community activists and workers interested in energy issues, or using energy projects to deliver improvements to their own communities.
The conference is free for members of the network. It marks the end of the first year of the programme and, it is hoped, will be a lively and stimulating event that will help to inspire and unite those that attend.
The day will include discussions, workshops, chances to network and even a round of energy efficiency bingo! The workshops themes include:
- Getting funded
- Working with volunteers
- Renewable energy options for communities
- Energy education - working with young people
- Integrating energy improvements in regeneration schemes
- Tackling health through energy projects
