Russian Visitors to CSE
Russian Visitors to CSE
This month we're pleased to welcome a delegation from St Petersburg who are investigating setting up their own centre for sustainable energy.
28 November 2002
December sees a visit to CSE by Russian energy experts, including Olga Senova, Council Chairwoman of Children of the Baltic (NGO), Alexander Fedorov, Project Manager of Green World (NGO), Alexandre Alkhimenko, Dean of the engineering faculty at St Petersburg Polytechnical University and Elena Tutynina of the State Nature Protection Center of Department for Nature Resources of Northwest Russia.
The project, funded by the British Council, aims to help Children of the Baltic set up a centre for sustainable energy in St Petersburg. The Russian group will spend time with CSE finding out about our work in schools and the community delivering energy projects. They will also visit schools and universities in the Bristol area to see how they tackle energy management and will talk to CSE's energy advice staff - including our specialists in energy efficiency, renewable energy and small business energy advice - about the ways in which we deliver information. The visitors will also spend time with members of the Bristol City Council Energy Management Unit talking about how the unit functions and the current Climate Protection Strategy that the council is developing.
Next year, members of CSE will go to St Petersburg to help train staff that will work in the centre.
